I lost my dear sweet husband in October. I’m not unique when I say most of my days are a blur and I’m sleep walking through them, numb. But I found your sub stack recommendation on Spitballs. Your words helped me to begin my day today. Thank you.
Your comment made my heart smile. God made me an encourager. Our neighbor is a recent widow then lost both her parents two weeks later. We’re doing everything we can to help her and keep her from falling apart.
Joe so appropriate that your first substack is Biblically based. God has so blessed you with insight in His world, and you use your first post to honor Him and His will and His ways. To God be the glory! I also thank you for the times you have responded to me. It has helped tremendously, as has this substack. ... for He is choosing to put me in an extreme time of trying in my latter years. It is hard. I am grasping for hope and joy. All hope and joy is in Him and Him alone. Thank you Joe! Thank you!
Keep your chin up Moose! You have always been one of my biggest encouragers and I appreciate you.
What I love about you is that even with all you’re going through, you’re not a complainer. Your faith shines through my friend and that only comes from someone who has met Jesus and knows Him personally. I hope your healing is going well and I’m praying for you. I’m sorry I haven’t been checking in to see how you’re doing.
Blessings brother! I think I might keep this the theme of my substack going forward
I needed to hear those words more than you could ever imagine. My bitterness towards family has been growing so rampant lately. I was beginning to lose myself to the emotions. Thank you for opening my eyes!
I wish you were my Bible study leader. No, seriously, your words opened my mind to the endless possibilities I have that I have been avoiding or, worse, running away from. Thanks for this and please keep writing.
But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Joe, first off thank you! Thank you for the reminder. I joined the Army in 80’s under Reagan and this slogan. This encouraged me in a way that neither of us will fully understand til we are with Jesus. It was a very timely reminder to BE the encourager I want to see in others around me. It starts with us.
We never know when or where the light of Jesus will shine through in this lost and broken world, let’s not miss any opportunities to share the reason for our hope. It’s so easy with all the obstacles and distractions to focus on the problems and forget the answer was, IS and always will be JESUS.
““The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” ’”
